Dean of Studies – Rev. Dr. Tomy Plathottam MCBS

We are honored to have Rev. Dr. Tomy Plathottam MCBS as the Dean of Studies at MCBS Kalasadhan. A gifted vocalist, music composer, musicologist, organist, and tabalist, Rev. Dr. Tomy is a Catholic priest belonging to the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. His profound understanding of music and its many forms is reflected not only in his versatile skills but also in his distinguished academic journey.

Rev. Dr. Tomy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Carnatic Music from Bangalore University, a Master’s in Western Music from Italy, and a Doctorate in Harmonic Music from Denmark. With a wealth of international experience, he has served as a professor of music in Europe at renowned institutions like the “Istituto Musicale Pergolesi” of Ancona and the “Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini” of Genoa.

Currently, Rev. Dr. Tomy is the Director of “Kalagriham : Art and Music Institute”, Maharashtra. Previously, he was the Founder-Director of the “Kalasadhaka Academy of Music and Arts” in Kollam, India, where he first began his journey of inspiring and educating future generations of musicians and artists.

Our examinations are designed to help students refine their skills and maintain the quality as a fine artists. With a focus on both excellence and artistic expression, I am committed to guiding each student toward success and helping them unlock their full potential.
